About the event
You do not need to have attended the previous workshops to come to this one. It will have been helpful with learning to read to notation, however this will be explained again at this session. Things will move at a faster pace this time round and the musical developments will be more advanced.
The Mantra Method uses a rhythm cycle and melody/tone row that participants fill in to determine the soundscape that is conjured. This opening workshop will serve as an opportunity to get familiar with the system. Initially, the rhythmic and melodic options will be very basic, in order to make sure everyone feels comfortable reading the notation.
The system is infinitely scalable and can generate an incredible nimbus of sound. The beauty is in the randomness of the generated mantra, passing through dense chords, unison or silence.
This workshop also serves as an interactive way of developing musicianship…
