A bit more info...

Low-commitment, high-reward singing — for everyone.

What do we sing?

Pop, indie, nostalgic favourites, unexpected harmonies, and songs that simply feel good to sing in a room full of people.

Do I need to read music?

No.

We teach everything by ear, though sheet music is available if you would like it.

Do I need to book?

No. Just turn up.

Sing with us on Monday nights in Sheffield.

No auditions. No pressure. No need to commit every week.

Whether you’re a confident singer, complete beginner, ex-choir nerd, shower vocalist, or simply curious — you are welcome here.

Low income?

Pay what you can — including free.

No forms, no proof, no awkward conversations. Just honesty and kindness. If you are financially comfortable, you are welcome to pay a little extra to support someone else.

What makes Pop Chorus different?

This is not a traditional community choir.

There are no performances or any requirement to already be “good".

You can come weekly, monthly, or once in a blue moon and still feel part of the group.

We care more about energy, connection and shared sound than polished perfection.

For people who think they “can’t sing:" many people arrive convinced they are not singers. That is absolutely fine.

Our Musical Director is a professional musician experienced in working with all kinds of voices — from trained singers to complete beginners who have not sung since school.

If you can mumble in tune or groan in time, we can work with that...

...And if you are secretly a bit of a diva, there is space for you too.

The FaceNoise approach

FaceNoise believes singing should be:

  • accessible

  • joyful

  • social

  • artistically exciting

  • free from unnecessary pressure

Pop Chorus is designed for people who miss making music with others, want to meet new people, or simply need one evening a week where they can make a huge sound with a room full of humans.

Some people come for the music.
Some come for the community.
Most stay for both.

What to expect

A typical session includes:

  • a relaxed vocal warm-up

  • learning songs in harmony

  • breaks for drinks and conversation

  • occasional sectional work

  • plenty of laughter

  • moments of surprising beauty and power

No experience required. No preparation needed.

Just arrive and join the sound.

Come as you are. Come when you can.

Let your voice make FaceNoise.
