About the event
Returning for its third year in 2027, FaceNoise’s Peak District Choral Course—formerly the Hope Valley Choral Retreat—brings amateur singers together for a few days of intensive music-making, discovery and good company in the beautiful Peak District.
At the heart of the course is an ambitious choral programme, developed through focused rehearsals and shared in two distinctive performances: an informal, private event in a unique location as part of FaceNoise’s Choral Fieldwork programme, and a closing concert at St John the Baptist Church, Tideswell.
Alongside rehearsals, singers can enjoy vocal coaching with international opera singer Ella Taylor, plus workshops exploring the basics of conducting, group improvisation and a solo-song masterclass—all included at no additional cost. These offer opportunities to develop your voice, broaden your musical skills and try something new in a supportive setting.
There’s plenty to enjoy beyond the music, too: shared meals, a guided Sound Walk, and the spontaneous outings…
